This glossary contains all words or expressions in the novel other than those that appear in the Longman 2000-word defining vocabulary (see the appendix to the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English), as well as words using nonstandard spellings and colloquial abbreviations. __The definitions have been adapted from this dictionary, with additional entries using the same defining vocabulary.
